we’re on a mission to get people on the path back home.
Currently there are 770,000 people unhoused in the United States. 187,000 in California, 38,891 in the Bay Area, 9,747 in Alameda County, and 844 people who are houseless right here in Berkeley. Chronic and temporary homelessness are massive issues. We’re working to change that.
*Sources US Department of Housing and Urban Development and Bay Area County Point-in-Time Counts, 2024.

We routinely reach 550+ unhoused people in Berkeley every day – that’s more than half the city’s total unhoused population. We are reversing homelessness with every step we take, and doing it the Dorothy Day Way.
